There is always a genre that we like the most.
On this podcast we are going to know different film genres. Let’s see some of them:
Action films generally include challenges, fights, chases, some rescues, battles and other elements that require physical feats from the heroes. This genre involves the audience with its life-threatening situations and incredible visual effects.
Adventure films are usually
set in exotic locations where action scenes are displayed in an
energetic way. Main plot elements of adventure films include characters
going on a treasure hunt and heroic journeys to unknown places.
If you like laughing, then you may prefer comedy films. This genre is designed to make the audience laugh. Films in this style traditionally have a happy ending.
If a comedy movie makes us laugh… dramas are serious stories, with emotional themes elements and characters dealing with intense subjects such as alcoholism, drug addiction, moral dilemmas, corruption, racial prejudice, etc.
Horror films are designed to scare and to invoke our hidden worst fears; they often deal with the audience’s nightmares. Elements often prevalent in typical horror films include ghosts, vampires, werewolves, haunted houses, ancient curses, satanism, demons, torture, vicious animals, zombies, serial killers, etc.
Sci-fi film is a genre that has themes such as extraterrestrial life forms, alien worlds, extrasensory perception, and time travel, often along with futuristic elements such as spacecraft, robots, cyborgs, interstellar space travel, etc. Science fiction often expresses the potential of technology to destroy humankind.
Westerns are one of the oldest, most enduring genres with very recognizable plots, elements, and characters (such as guns, horses, dusty towns and trails, cowboys, Indians, etc.). These movies usually portray how hard life was for frontier families.
